The Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade isn’t the only event to affect transit services this weekend.
Other special events take place in Brampton, the Downsview area of Toronto, Hamilton, Milton and the Unionville area of Markham this weekend — Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31, Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.
The events affect these routes and lines:
- Brampton Transit — 2 Main, 24 Van Kirk, 502 Züm Main.
- Hamilton Street Railway — All routes, 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, Tiger-Cats Express shuttles.
- Milton Transit — 2 Main, 6 Scott.
- Toronto Transit Commission — 101 Downsview Park.
- York Region Transit — 302 Unionville express.
The Thursday, July 30 event affecting transit service is: Thursday Nights at the Bandstand.
The Friday, July 31 event affecting transit services is: the Veld Music Festival.
The Saturday, August 1 events affecting transit services are: Brampton Farmers Market; a Canadian Football League game; Milton Farmers Market; and the Veld Music Festival.
The Sunday, August 2 event affecting transit services is: the Veld Music Festival.
Brampton
Brampton Farmers Market
Saturday mornings and early afternoons until October 10, the City of Brampton is closing
- Main Streets North and South between Nelson and Wellington Streets
to accommodate the city’s weekly farmers market.
Brampton Transit is detouring service while the street is closed.
2 Main
From 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Main Street North and Theatre Lane / Nelson Street West, then detour:
westward along Nelson West, passing, but not stopping at, the Downtown Transit Terminal,
southward along George streets north and south; and then
eastward along Wellington Street West to Main South,
resuming their regular path southward along Main.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Main Street North at Queen Street West and
- on Main Street South at Wellington Street West.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

The annual music festival again takes place in Downsview Park Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The TTC is revising service during the event.

From noon Friday, July 30 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 2, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Downsview Park Trail and Carl Hall Road, then detour:
northeastward along Carl Hall;
northward along Chesswood Drive; and then
westward along Sheppard Avenue East to John Drury Drive,
resuming their regular path westward along Sheppard West.Southbound buses skip their regular stop
- on Carl Hall Road across from Centennial College’s Downsview campus.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Sheppard Avenue West beyond Bakersfield Street and at Tuscan Gate and John Drury Drive.

Hamilton
Canadian Football League game
All Hamilton Street Railway routes
You can ride any HSR bus free of fare to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Calgary Stampeders, Saturday, August 1 at 3 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game.
With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Hamilton Stadium for as much as two hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.
You can also take advantage of Tiger-Cats Express shuttles. Park your car at or near one of three terminals across the City and the HSR will whisk you directly to the stadium on an express bus — and then take you back to one of the three terminals after the game. (You can also take another HSR bus to one of the three terminals — just show your game ticket to the bus operator and that’s your ticket to ride.)

Buses operate to and from the Hamilton GO Centre.
Board or exit inbound buses on Barton Street East at Chapple Street — just one block north of Hamilton Stadium. Board or exit outbound buses on Barton East at Lenister Avenue North.
3 Cannon
Buses operate to and from the Hamilton GO Centre.
Board or exit inbound and outbound buses on Cannon Street East west of Balsam Avenue North — just south of Hamilton Stadium.
Tiger-Cats Express shuttles
From about 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, August 1, free HSR shuttle buses also speedily transport ticket-holders from three terminals across the city to the stadium. After the game is over, they’ll shuttle you back again. You can view the schedule for Saturday’s shuttle service here.
Milton
Milton Farmers Market

to accommodate the Milton Chamber of Commerce’s weekly market.
