GO Transit is set to

GO Transit is set to open its new downtown bus terminal at Union Station on August 31. Located across the street from Union Station on Bay just south of Front, the terminal will eventually be physically connected to the main building via Train Platform 1. Until then, passengers will have to cross the street to get to the buses, a short-term problem for a long-term solution. The new bus terminal will eventually see all GO buses now boarding on Front move to this more appropriate facility. The first route, however, to operate out of the new terminal will be the Toronto-Hamilton via QEW run that now operates out of the Downtown Bus Terminal at Bay and Dundas. All stops now served by GO buses between the Bus Terminal and the Gardiner Expressway will be discontinued as buses will now run directly into the GO Terminal. All these changes go a long way in relieving traffic congestion on Front St. as well as a speedier connection to all public transit services for Hamilton commuters. This is further evidence of Union Station becoming the most important transit hub in the GTA.
