“[Re:] the Sheppard line, I’ve seen the designations for the new routes feeding into Don Mills Stn. The “North” route numbers are simply the existing route + 100 for odd numbered routes (67 Pharmacy = 167 Pharmacy North) and +200 for even routes (24 Vic Park = 224 Vic Park North). Why the TTC would now go into the pool of 200-series route numbers when there are still plenty of available numbers is beyond me. The recent renumbering of Huntingwood to 169 may have something to do with a branch of the 39 Finch East being fed into Sheppard resulting in a 139 Finch route.
“The 25 Don Mills which runs into a problem with 125 Drewry [no problem here. 25 DON MILLS is not being split in two—David C.] will probably be solved by having York Regional Transit take over north of Steeles and then run down to Don Mills Stn. According to their 5 year plan, Don Mills is supposed to be a focal point for routes in the eastern end of the system (Markham/Unionville). Finch is for Thornhill/Richmond Hill and Downsview (and any subsequent extension) will feed Woodbridge/Vaughan routes. YRT is already in the first year of this 5-year plan, so perhaps in the next 4 years we will see more routes handed over to YRT from TTC and more of those blue buses running into the subway system. GO Transit already has plans to shift some service from Finch to Don Mills once the line opens.”
