Alas! Another open-cut section of

Alas! Another open-cut section of the subway is being decked-over. Work is well underway for a new devlopment over the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line between Rosedale and Summerhill Stns., more specifically between Rowanwood bridge and Price portal. Shades of the covering-up of the section between Summerhill and St. Clair Stns.? Will the whole section south to Rosedale Stn. be decked-over? It was such a nice and peaceful ascent northbound out of Rosedale Stn. The slower moving trains, especially when the Gloucesters were operating, allowed for a pensive view of the vegetation. On the other hand, I can think of a driver who probably would not have minded the entire Rosedale to Summerhill stretch had already been covered up some twenty years ago: Coming home from university one evening on a packed Gloucester train during a heavy snowstorm, the eight cars were having a heck of a time going up the hill, prompting the driver to crack over the P. A., “If this train moves any slower, we’ll all have to get out and push!”
