Interesting Developments Around Queen Station

Our readers report: “Due to construction on the new towers on the northeast corner of Queen and Yonge, the northeast entrance to Queen Subway Station will be closed until the middle of December, 2002. When the entrance re-opens, it will be part of the new office building. The easiest access between the subway and westbound streetcars is actually via the subway entrance in the office building on the south-east corner, as long as traffic on Queen Street isn’t too heavy, or across Yonge Street in the Eaton Centre.”

Also, when in the area, have a look at the track re-construction on Victoria Street at Richmond Street and at Adelaide Street. There are some interesting new one-way track arrangements, particularly at Victoria and Adelaide, where there are curves to and from Adelaide Street but no switches on Victoria Street.
