Service Report - March 28, 2005

Today is Easter Monday. Although banks, schools and government offices are closed, most people still have to work. GO Transit is offering full weekday service today.

Pay attention to GO’s service disruption alert page, which is regularly updated. GO Transit warns of possible minor delays to the Bradford Line south of York University due to ongoing work. Also, passengers requiring wheelchair service at Stouffville GO station are asked to use Mount Joy at Highway 48 and 16th Avenue until further notice. Accessible service at Stouffville GO station will resume later this year.

The Toronto Transit Commission has announced service changes this past Sunday. Peak period service is being added to 168 Symington, 53 Steeles East and 35 Jane, with additional midday service on 84 Sheppard West and new off-peak service on 133C Nelson. 509 Harbourfront is getting its springtime boost in service, with ten minute headways on Saturdays and Sundays. Look for trip time adjustments for 54 Lawrence East and increased Sunday morning service on 25 Don Mills. Finally, the TTC is adding accessible buses to 99 Arrow Road, 35 Jane, and 84 Sheppard West.

Construction on Queen Street East is kicking into gear. Buses have already replaced streetcars on Queen between Kingston Road and Neville loop. This will remain in effect until April 4, when track excavation begins, and services really get disrupted.

Elsewhere, sanitary and storm sewer work at Royal York between the Queensway and Dalesford Road is disrupting service on the 15 Evans and 76 Royal York South bus routes.
