TTC Strike Watch: Moscoe Optimistic

According to this article in today’s Toronto Star, TTC commissioner Howard Moscoe believes that there will be no strike. He notes that that 160 clauses still have to be worked through, but union and management continue to work through them. The union has said they will not strike, even beyond the legal strike deadline, while negotiations continue.

GO Transit is quoted as saying that it would add vehicles to handle the extra crowds expected on its services if the TTC did strike. Toronto-bound commuters (and those in Toronto doing the reverse-commute — we’ve received a few e-mails from people asking how they can get to their jobs in the 905 region from their homes in 416) should keep an eye on GO Transit’s website for service updates on how the agency will handle matters.
