No Fooling: Major Disruptions on Queen East

Beach residents should consult the TTC’s Queen Street East track reconstruction page, as the project will enter phase two on Monday, April 4. Trackwork will begin on Queen Street at Lee Avenue and at Lark Street and proceed eastward. No replacement bus service will be possible on Queen between Kingston Road and Wineva.

501 Queen cars will continue to operate as overlapping segments, with one running between Long Branch loop and the loop at Kingston Road and Queen and the other running east from Humber loop, along Queen and up Kingston Road to Victoria Park. There will be no 502 Downtowner service for the duration of the construction, since 501 Queen will be providing the necessary service on Kingston Road. Service will be increased on 503 Kingston Road, with earlier and later trips and 301 Queen Night service will end at Kingston Road and Queen.

A new temporary bus route named 13 Neville Park will start operating from Victoria Park station on Monday, running south on Victoria Park and looping via Kingston Road, Blantyre, Queen, Glen Manor, Southwood and Kingston Road. This will also be the loop followed by the 143 Downtown Beach Express as it diverts off of Queen Street onto Kingston Road. Bus service will also increase on 64 Main (whose loop will be revamped) and 92 Woodbine South.

These changes will hold until the end of April, when trackwork proceeds east of Wineva, resulting in more changes to the replacement bus service and more diversions.
