Weekend Festivals, Construction, Bring Diversions

In addition to the traffic disruptions expected from the Molson Indy, the TTC reports no less than four diversions this weekend through the system.

Tonight at 6 p.m., the Toronto street festival starts up on Yonge Street and lasts all weekend. Yonge Street will be closed at four locations: Lawrence, Eglinton, St. Clair and Dundas, and 97 Yonge buses will be forced to divert around the sites. This change also affects the 320 Yonge night buses. Details on the diversions can be found here.

Also tonight, a Taste of Lawrence begins and runs through to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Lawrence Avenue will be closed between Warden Avenue and Crockford Boulevard, and 54 Lawrence East buses will have to divert around htat. Details can be found here.

Then there’s the Toronto Fiesta Festival on St. Clair Avenue West between Lansdowne and Dufferin from 6:30 p.m. tonight to 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening. St. Clair streetcars will be cut back to Oakwood loop, while replacement buses will operate from St. Clair West station east to Keele, diverting around St. Clair between Dufferin and Lansdowne via Davenport Road. This closure also affects the 312 St. Clair night bus. Details can be found here.

Finally, construction will close Kennedy Road at the CN tracks south of Kennedy station. From 6:00 a.m. Saturday to 8:00 p.m., this will force 113 Danforth buses to continue on Danforth Road past Kennedy to Midland, following Midland and Eglinton to Kennedy station. Details of the diversion can be found here.

Other than that, the system is operating normally. Consider taking transit to the many events going on this weekend in this city.
