GO Transit Offers Alerts by E-mail

GO Transit patrons may benefit from a new e-mail service to be offered by the agency to keep passengers abreast of changes in service. E-News was officially launched today with the following media release:

Free E-News service will keep GO customers informed

TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2005 /CNW/ - Today, GO Transit officially launches a new service to help keep customers better informed.

E-News is an e-mail subscription service that lets passengers sign up for timely, customized news about the GO service they use.

To register, passengers can visit to subscribe to the service. Customers who register for E-News will receive e-mail alerts about service improvements, new schedules, any major delays, construction notices, and other news and information.

From the sign-up page, passengers select the GO Transit service they use, enter the e-mail address they would like information sent to, and pick the days of the week and times of day when they would like to receive notifications. This will ensure registrants receive only the information they need - when they need it.

Customers who use more than one of GO’s services can sign up for up to three combinations of rail and bus services. Notifications can be sent to any device that accepts e-mail.

E-News will allow GO Transit to better communicate with the approximately 180,000 passengers it carries on a typical weekday.
