Service planning ideas; promotional ideas

Have you got a burning idea for how the TTC could improve their existing routes or where they could provide new routes? The annual service planning public meeting has been announced (242 kB PDF). It’ll be held on Thursday, December 1, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Toronto Reference Library on Yonge north of Bloor. The best ideas will be carried forward into then annual Service Improvements report; previous years’ reports can be viewed on the TTC’s website, or here in the Transit Toronto archives.

Or, if your idea is how the TTC can better promote itself and make the daily commute more entertaining, the “Pizzazz Me” contest is closing tomorrow, November 25. Spacing magazine notes that several people have suggested that the TTC start selling Spacing’s popular subway buttons.

And on that note, if you’ve been holding out, waiting for the Sheppard and Scarborough RT buttons to be added to the set, or if you’ve already got the complete collection but are wondering what happened to those stations, the wait is nearly over: Spacing Wire has announced that new Sheppard and SRT buttons will be available on their website as of this weekend.
