TTC Rolls Out Modest Service Changes this Sunday

The latest round of service changes will come into effect this Sunday, as the TTC begins its new board period. The changes are minor, but include:

  • two more morning rush-hour trips on the 39E Finch East Express.
  • increase in midday service on 38 Highland Creek from 12 minute to 10 minute frequencies and during the afternoon peak from 14 minute to 12 minute frequencies. Saturday afternoon service also increased from 15 minutes to 12 minutes.
  • increase in morning peak service on 133 Neilsen from 10 minutes to 8 minutes, 45 second frequencies and during the early evening from 20 minutes to 15 minute frequencies. Saturday afternoon service increased from 12 minutes to 10 minutes, and Saturday early evening service increased from 20 minutes to 15 minutes.
  • increase in midday, afternoon peak and early evening service on 85 Sheppard East. Buses will now serve all stops between Don Mills station and Meadowvale every 6 minutes during the midday, every 4 minutes, 38 seconds (or thereabouts) during the afternoon peak and every 7 minutes, 30 seconds during the early evening.
  • early night trip on 320 Yonge Night eliminated.
  • service reduction on 134 Progress during the early evenings from Monday to Saturday. Combined branch service between Scarborough Centre and Centennial College drops from 10 minute frequencies to 11 minute frequencies.

The full details can be found here.

Additional service may be added on key routes once new buses start to arrive. Nearly 200 are on order for this year and next. The service increase is, of course, conditional on finding the funds to pay for the fuel and the drivers.
