CablePulse 24’s speculative report on the possibility of another wildcat strike today has turned out to be just that. Pulse 24 now reports that the TTC is operating normally. It’s possible that reports that TTC management were putting in plans for dealing with a possible wildcat strike may have been misinterpreted as planning for an imminent event, although that’s pure speculation on my part.
The issues that sparked the wildcat strike last week continue to simmer, and there are reports that TTC management have not been in touch with the union to talk about these issues. One hopes that dialogue does start, so that frustrations can be vented, conversations take place and cooler heads finally prevail. In the meantime, the Toronto Star has an interesting profile of TTC union president Bob Kinnear, possibly the most hated man in Toronto.
People who bought Metropasses for May may now return them for a $4 rebate from any TTC collector. Users have until June 19 to take advantage of this rebate.
