St. Clair Trackwork Closes Avenue Road Intersection For Weekend

Track construction on St. Clair Avenue will force the closure of the St. Clair/Avenue Road intersection from later this evening until the early morning of Tuesday, October 10. During the closure, one lane of traffic will remain open on St. Clair Avenue for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

This work will affect operations on the 5 Avenue Road bus. The TTC will split this route in two, with the northern section running south from Eglinton Avenue over the regular route to Heath Street. Then buses will operate to St. Clair station, via Heath, Yonge and Pleasant Boulevard. Buses return to Eglinton Avenue via St. Clair Avenue to Avenue Road.

The southern section of the route will operate from St. Clair station via Yonge, and Balmoral Avenue to Avenue Road, rejoining the normal route and running south to Queen’s Park Circle. Service on the 142 Express bus on Avenue Road will not be affected.
