GO transit revises Union Station platforms

Union Station’s new train platform 5B/6A will open this morning, Monday, November 27, to all GO train passengers.

Before now, this platform was only open to passengers with limited mobility who needed step-free access to trains.

Customers can get to platform 5B/6A via four stairways:

  1. York West teamway, west side of York St., directly opposite Union Station

  2. New GO York St. concourse: (inside Union Station, lower level, west of existing GO concourse and the VIA arrivals area)

  3. Air Canada Centre indoor walkway from the GO concourse to the Air Canada Centre

  4. Bay East teamway, east side of Bay St., south of the Union Station GO Bus Terminal

Platform 13 will also close today. As a result, the arrival and departure platforms of some trains will change. Electronic displays in Union Station’s waiting areas will direct passengers to the platform for their train.

GO will now begin work on its next project – building a new passenger platform at the south end of the station.
