Streetcars return to the full St. Clair route

Starting Sunday, February 18, the Toronto Transit Commission will again run streetcars along the entire 512 St. Clair route between St. Clair Station and Gunn’s Loop, west of Keele Street.

Buses will no longer replace streetcars between St. Clair and St. Clair West Stations. Passengers can use the island stops to board and exit from streetcars and TTC vehicles will not be serving the curb stops.

Streetcars will run every three to nine minutes during the daytime and every seven to fifteen minutes during the evenings.

The City and TTC will resume their major project to reconstruct the streetcar tracks and right-of-way along St. Clair Avenue in the spring. That work will require the TTC to further divert the streetcar service.

(Update: Thursday at 8:30): Test trains have appeared on the private right-of-way of St. Clair Avenue. Steve Munro provides the photographic evidence.
