GO service disruptions continue

A freight train has derailed near Pickering, disrupting service on GO Transit’s Lakeshore East train line. The severe weather is also affecting service.

Here are the details as of 5:30 p.m. tonight:

Train service

Most Lakeshore East trains will operate only from Union Station to Pickering, however, whenever possible, some trains will operate through to Oshawa. GO has scheduled limited shuttle bus service between Pickering and Oshawa.

GO is also revising Lakeshore West train service. It has cancelled the 1645 (4:45 p.m.) train trip from Burlington to Union from Burlington to Oakville and the 1702 (5:02 p.m.) train trip from Union to Hamilton.

Passengers on other GO train lines should also expect some weather-related delays.

Bus service

Due to road conditions, GO bus passengers on all routes should expect delays of as long as two hours.

GO has suspended the Hamilton Express bus service along the Queen Elizabeth way in both directions.

It has also cancelled the 1830 (6:30 p.m.) express bus from Union Station to Mount Pleasant and the 1830 express bus from Union Station to Georgetown.

Check GO’s web site for more details.
