TTC diverts Dundas West streetcars

The City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission are beginning the next phase of the project to replace the streetcar tracks, reconstruct a bridge and repave the roadway on Dundas Street between Howard Park and Broadview Avenues. The project began in late February and will continue until mid-November.

Starting Friday, March 16, the City and TTC will begin welding and storing rails on Dundas Street West, between Lansdowne and Brock Avenues.

The TTC will divert streetcars on the 505 Dundas route both ways along College Street and Ossington Avenue. It will not replace streetcars with alternate transit service on Dundas between College and Ossington.

The City and TTC continue to weld and store rails on Dundas Street West, east of Bathurst Street (storing rails between Casimir Street and Denison Avenue), to prepare for replacing the tracks during an upcoming phase of the project.

In the east, the TTC continues to divert streetcars on the 505 Dundas route both ways along Parliament Street and Gerrard Street East. The TTC has not replaced streetcars with alternate transit service on Dundas Street East between Parliament Street and Broadview Avenue. 504 King streetcars continue to serve Broadview Avenue between Gerrard and Dundas Streets East.
