The TTC and Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation (TWRC or “Waterfront Toronto”) are inviting the public to attend the second workshop for the TTC-TWRC Waterfront Transit Environmental Assessment — East Bayfront on Thursday, June 21, Novotel Hotel, 45 The Esplanade, Champagne Ballroom, from 6 to 9 p.m. A presentation will begin at 6:45 p.m. and a workshop discussion session will follow the presentation.
The study will identify the required transit infrastructure to serve future waterfront development in the East Bayfront area. The first public workshop of the study resulted in the TTC and Waterfront Toronto selecting a dedicated right-of-way along Queens Quay East as the preferred option for providing transit service in the East Bayfront area.
On Thursday, you can find out about and discuss: alternative transit technologies; using streetcars or buses for providing transit service along Queens Quay East and north to Union Station; and potential locations for a portal where transit vehicles will enter and exit the Bay Street tunnel to Union Station. The next stage of the study will assess these locations in detail.
Transit: 1 Yonge-University-Spadina subway, 6 Bay bus, 509 Harbourfront or 510 Spadina streetcar to Union Station. Walk east two blocks along Front Street to Scott Street and then south one block to The Esplanade.
