Downtown Farmers’ MarketThe City of Brampton has closed Main Street between Theatre Lane and John Street today, Saturday, June 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate the Market.
Brampton Transit will detour buses on the 2 Main route during the market. Southbound buses will operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Nelson Street West, then detour westward along Nelson, southward along George Streets North and South, eastward along Wellington Street West, resuming their regular route at Wellington and Main. Northbound buses reverse the routing. GO Transit will likely also detour buses on the 31 Georgetown route. Southbound buses will operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Nelson Street West, then detour westward along Nelson, through the Downtown Brampton Bus Terminal, then southward along George Streets North and South, eastward along Wellington Street West, resuming their regular route at Wellington and Main. Northbound buses reverse the routing.The City has closed a number of streets in the vicinity of Professor’s Lake, including Torbram Road from Williams Parkway to Bovaird Drive, today, Saturday, June 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate this event.
Brampton Transit is detouring buses on two routes during the event.
Southbound buses on the 12 Grenoble route are operating on their regular route to Bovaird Drive and Torbram Road, then continuing eastward along Bovaird, southward along Bramalea Road and eastward along North Park Drive, resuming their regular route at North Park and Jordan Boulevard. Northbound buses reverse this routing. Southbound buses on the 14 Torbram route are operating along their regular route to Bovaird Drive and Torbram Road, then detouring eastward along Bovaird, southward along Airport Road and westward along North Park Drive, resuming their regular route at North Park and Torbram. Northbound buses reverse this routing. Brampton Transit is also providing shuttle service between the parking lot at Chinguacousy Secondary School at Williams Parkway and Jordan Boulevard and a stop at Jordan and North Park Drive for passengers heading to the event or Professor’s Lake. The shuttle is operating on a one-way, circular route, westward along Williams Parkway, northward along Bramalea Road, eastward along North Park Drive and then southward along Jordan Boulevard to Chinguacousy Secondary. The only stops on this route are Jordan and North Park and Chinguacousy Secondary. The shuttles are running frequently from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Canada Day Fireworks display Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park will host this year’s fireworks display on Sunday, July 1 and you can travel free on Brampton Transit to the park from one of five locations throughout Brampton.From 4:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., shuttle service will operate hourly from the Bramalea Transit Centre to the park every 60 minutes. Shuttles will also leave for the park from Shoppers World, Trinity Common, and the Downtown Brampton Transit Terminal and Mount Pleasant GO Station at 7, 7:10, 9 and 9:10 p.m. After the display is over, shuttles will return to the Transit Terminals and Mount Pleasant at 10:45 and 11 p.m.
The City of Brampton will also close streets in the area of Chinguacousy Park after 9 p.m. and Brampton Transit will divert services on three regular routes that usually operate on the closed streets although Brampton Transit had not announced specific routings.
Eastbound buses on the 1 Queen route will likely operate on their regular route to Knightsbridge and Bramalea Roads, then detour southward along Bramalea, eastward along Clark Boulevard and then northward along Finchgate Boulevard, resuming their regular route at Finchgate and Queen Street. Westbound buses will likely reverse this routing. Southbound buses on the 15 Bramalea route will likely operate on their regular route to Bramalea Road and Central Park Drive, then detour eastward along Central Park, southward along Glenvale and Finchgate Boulevards, westward along Clark Boulevard and then northward along Bramalea, resuming their regular route at Bramalea and Knightsbridge Road. Northbound buses will likely resume this routing. Brampton Transit and York Region Transit will likely detour buses on their shared 77 Bramalea / Finch Station route during the event. Eastbound buses will likely operate on their regular route to Knightsbridge and Bramalea Roads, then detour southward along Bramalea, eastward along Clark Boulevard and then northward along Finchgate Boulevard, resuming their regular route at Finchgate and Queen Street. Guelph
Canada Day Fireworks display in Riverside Park
Guelph Transit will offer a special Canada Day service, on Sunday, July 1. Regular transit service will start at 9:15 a.m. from St. George’s Square and run every half hour until 8:45 p.m.
At 8:45 p.m. Guelph Transit will start a shuttle service, leaving St. George’s Square in front of Old Quebec Street, to transport passengers to Riverside Park for the fireworks display. Buses will let passengers off on Woodlawn Road, opposite Riverside Glen. The shuttles leave St. George’s Square from 8:45 to 9:15 p.m.Shuttle service from Riverside park to St. George’s Square will resume after the fireworks display. Passengers may board the shuttle buses on Woodlawn Road (opposite Riverside Glen). The shuttles leave Riverside Park from 9:45 to 10:15 p.m.
Regular transit service will resume once all shuttle buses have arrived in St. George’s Square from Riverside Park. The last trip will depart St. George’s Square at 12:15am.
Hamilton
Canada Day Fireworks at Pier 4
The Hamilton Street Railway will operate shuttle services between downtown Hamilton and Pier 4 on the waterfront to accommodate passengers hoping to enjoy the fireworks display. Buses will run every 15 minutes from a stop on John Street North, just north of King Street East from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.Northbound buses will operate to Pier 4 northward along John Street North and westward along Guise Streets East and West, looping along Leander Drive at Pier 4. They will stop to pick up passengers at John and Barton Street East.
Southbound buses will operate from Pier 4 eastward along Leander and Guise, southward along James Streets North and South, eastward along Main Street East and northward along John Streets South and North, returning to John and King. The southbound buses stop to pick up or unload passengers at James and Strachan Streets, James and Colborne Streets and James opposite King William Street.
Markham
On Sunday, July 1, the Town of Markham will close McCowan Road between South Unionville and Bullock Drives from 3 to 4:30 p.m. to accommodate the annual Markham Canada Day Parade.
York Region Transit will divert buses on several routes during the event.
Westbound VIVA Purple buses will begin their routes at Bullock Drive and Highway 7 during the event. They will operate westward along Highway 7 and resume their regular route at Highway 7 and Kennedy Road. Eastbound VIVA Purple buses will operate along their regular route to Kennedy Road and Highway 7, then continue northward along Kennedy, eastward along Austin Drive, and southward along Bullock to Highway 7. Westbound buses on the 1 Highway 7 route will operate along their regular route to Highway 7 and Markham Road, then detour southward along Markham, westward along 14th Avenue, northward along Kennedy, resuming their regular route at Kennedy and Highway 7. Eastbound buses will reverse this routing. Westbound buses on the 40 Unionville Local route will begin their route at Bullock and Highway 7 and then operate northward along Bullock, westward along Austin, northward along Kennedy, resuming their regular route at Kennedy and Carlton. The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is closing Main Street Stouffville between Ninth Line and Stouffer Road today, June 30 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate the Stouffville Strawberry Festival.
GO Transit will divert buses on the 71 Stouffville route during the event.Northbound buses will operate on their regular route to Main Street and Ninth Line, then detour northward along Ninth Line, eastward and southward along Millard Street, eastward along North Street and then northward along Tenth Line, resuming their regular route at Tenth Line and Regional Highway 47. CHIN Canada Day Picnic Starting 9 a.m. today, Saturday, June 30 until approximately 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, during the CHIN Canada Day Picnic, the TTC is turning back buses on the 29B Dufferin (“Exhibition and Ontario Place”) branch at the Dufferin Gate loop while roads are closed within Exhibition Place to accomodate the event. TTC buses on the 29D Dufferin (Exhibition and Princes’ Gate) branch are operating along their regular route. Canada Day Celebration at Queen’s ParkThe City of Toronto will close Queen’s Park Crescents East and West and Queen’s Park (Avenue) between College Street and Charles Street West from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. to accommodate the event.
The TTC will divert buses on two routes, but has not announced specific routings.
Buses on the 5 Avenue Road route will likely short turn at St. George Station. Southbound buses will operate on their regular route to Avenue Road and Bloor Street West, then detour westward along Bloor, northward along Bedford Road and westward along Prince Arthur Avenue and into St. George Station. Northbound buses will likely operate from St. George Station southward along Bedford and eastward along Bloor, resuming their regular route at Bloor and Avenue. Eastbound buses on the 94 Wellesley route will likely operate along their regular route to Harbord and St. George Streets, then divert northward along St. George, eastward along Bloor Street West and southward along Bay Street, resuming their regular route at Bay and Wellesley Street East. Westbound buses will likely reverse this routing. East York Canada ParadeThe City will close Cosburn Avenue between Oak Park and Cedarvale Avenues and Haldon Avenue south of East York Acres (and other streets in the neighbourhood) on Sunday, July 1 from 9 until 11:30 a.m. to accommodate the Parade.
The event will likely delay or divert TTC buses operating along the 87 Cosburn route. Westbound buses may operate along their regular route to Lumsden and Westlake Avenues, then continue westward along Lumsden and northward along Woodbine Avenue, resuming their regular route at Woodbine and Cosburn Avenues. Eastbound buses will likely reverse this routing. Scarborough Canada Day ParadeThe City of Toronto will close Brimley Road, between Lawrence Avenue East and Progress Avenue on Sunday, July 1 from 4 until 8:30 p.m. to accommodate the Scarborough Canada Day Parade. The Parade may delay or divert buses on these routes:
