The City of Toronto and Exhibition Place will be closing several streets to accomodate the Steelback Grand Prix of Toronto (we used to call this event “the Molson Indy”). The event takes place through Exhibition Place and along Lake Shore Boulevard West this weekend, Friday, July 6, Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8, but the streets will be closed from 9 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 4 until 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 to allow crews to set up and dismantle the track, stands and other infrastructure for the event.
The TTC will divert transit service during the street closures and the event.
The closures affect these routes: 29 Dufferin (daytime), 316 Ossington (overnight), 329 Dufferin (overnight)
29 Dufferin (daytime): All southbound buses will end their trips at the Dufferin Gate loop. Buses will not serve the 29B “Exhibition and Ontario Place” and 29D “Exhibition and Princes’ Gates” branches during the closure. 329 Dufferin (overnight): Southbound buses will operate to the Dufferin Gate loop as usual, but then continue northward along Dufferin Street, eastward along King Street West, southward along Shaw Street, eastward along Douro Street, southward along Strachan Avenue and then westward into the Exhbition (east) Loop. Northbound buses will reverse this routing. 316 Ossington (overnight): Southbound buses will divert into the Exhibition (east) Loop instead of ending their trips on Manitoba Drive.
