TTC Cuts Protest Hits City Hall this Saturday

Dale Duncan over at Spacing’s Wire alerts us to a grassroots movement being organized to protest the proposed cuts to TTC service. From the article:

Saturday, July 28 Torontonian Vanessa Delsooz is taking her frustration over threats of TTC service cuts and fair hikes to Nathan Phillips Square. Claiming no affiliation with any particular organization or political group, Delsooz has decided to organize a rally to protest slashing services and discontinuing routes. The rally will start at 1:00pm at Nathan Phillips Square (perhaps one should be organized for Queen’s Park too?)

“The TTC gives no incentive to ride the red. It’s as if the more worse the service is, the more we have to pay,” says Delsooz in her press release. “The cost between public transit and driving a car is becoming less and less!”

Those on Facebook can check out Delsooz’s group “anti TTC cutbacks” for further info and discussion.
