Broadview Bus Platform Closed

Steve Munro alerts me to the fact that the Broadview station renovations are entering their final phase, which includes building a second exit from the eastbound subway platform to the bus platform area. As part of that construction, the TTC has closed the station’s bus platform this weekend, forcing all buses to compete for space with 504 King and 505 Dundas streetcars at the streetcar platforms. 100 Flemingdon Park and 8 Broadview buses are boarding at the 504 King platform while 62 Mortimer and 87 Cosburn are boarding at the 505 Dundas platform. This will continue until 4:30 a.m., Monday morning.

This change has not been posted on the TTC’s website, and has caught a number of bus drivers off guard. One anonymous driver writes that this diversion wasn’t posted at the garages which house the affected routes. To access the streetcar platforms, drivers have been asked to turn via Erindale, Ellerbeck, Danforth and Broadview in order to approach the station from the south.

Further to yesterday’s report about the disruptions at Kennedy station, notices posted at Eglinton garage suggest that full weekend closures of the Kennedy bus platform will continue until at least August 26.
