Construction projects in Mississauga and Whitby will affect transit services, starting Tuesday, August 7. Another project in Guelph recently began while another in Aurora recently ended.
The new construction projects affect these routes:
Durham Region Transit: 301 Otter Creek / West Lynde
Guelph Transit: 8 General Hospital
Mississauga Transit: 38 Creditview, 44 Mississauga Road, 82 Financial, Falconer Drive shuttle

York Region Transit: 31 Aurora North
Aurora A Town of Aurora project to reconstruct Aurora Heights Drive recently ended and buses on YRT’s 31 Aurora North service have resumed their regular routing.
Guelph The City of Guelph began a construction project at the intersection of Delhi and Emma Streets on Wednesday, August 1.
Guelph Transit will divert buses on the 8 General Hospital route during the construction.
Northbound buses will proceed on their regular route northward along Delhi Street to the Delhi Recreation Centre, loop through the Guelph General Hospital grounds and then proceed southwards along Delhi and northeastward along Eramosa Road, resuming their regular route at Eramosa and Metcalfe Street.
Southbound buses will proceed on their regular route to Metcalfe Street and Speedvale Avenue East and then continue southward along Metcalfe and southwestward along Eramosa Road, resuming their regular route at Eramosa and Delhi.
Mississauga
On Tuesday, August 7 only, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., the City of Mississauga will close Argentia Road to make emergency repairs to the level crossing between Campobello and Kitimat Roads.
Mississauga Transit will divert buses on several routes during the construction.
Southbound buses on the 38 Creditview service will follow their regular route to Argentia and Kitimat Roads, then detour southward along Kitimat and Mississauga Roads, eastward along Alpha Mills Road, northeastward along Falconer Drive and northward along Kinsman Gate, resuming their regular route at Kinsman and Argentia. Northbound buses will reverse this routing. Southbound buses on the 44 Mississauga Road service will follow their regular route to Argentia and Kitimat Roads, then detour soutward along Kitimat and Mississauga Roads and eastward along Alpha Mills Road, resuming their regular route at Alpha Mills and Falconer. Northbound buses will reverse this routing. Mississauga Transit will operate a special shuttle service during the construction to assist passengers who would usually travel to or from Falconer Drive on the 44 Mississauga Road route. Southbound Falconer Drive shuttles begin their routes at Argentia Drive and Campobello Road (east), then travel eastward along Argentia, southward along Kinsman Gate, southwestward along Falconer, eastward along Matlock Drive, south- and eastward along Swanhurst Boulevard, southward along Ellesboro Drive, westward along Britannia Road West, northward along Mississauga Road and eastward along Matlock Road, ending their route on Matlock, east of Mississauga. Northbound Falconer Drive shuttles begin their routes on Matlock, then operate northeastward along Falconer, northward along Kinsman Gate and then counterclockwise around Campobello Road, ending their route at Campobello and Argentia. On Tuesday morning during the peak period and until approximately 10:30 a.m., buses on the 82 Financial route will operate along their regular route to Argentia Road and Kinsman Gate, then detour southward along Kinsman, southwestward along Falconer, westward along Alpha Mills Road and northward along Mississauga and Kitimat Roads, resuming their regular route at Kitimat and Argentia. In the afternoon peak period, the buses will reverse this routing.Whitby A Town of Whitby construction project will close McQuay Boulevard, between Moonstone and Allayden Drives from Tuesday, August 7 until Friday, August 11.
DRT will detour buses on the 301 Otter Creek / West Lynde route during the construction. Southbound buses will operate along their regular route to McQuay and Kennett Drive, then detour westward along Kennett and then south- and eastward along Allayden, resuming their regular route at Allayden and McQuay. Northbound buses will reverse this routing.
