TTC surveys riders about what kind of transit system they want

For the next two weeks, the TTC will ask Torontonians what kind of transit system they want. You can find the survey online and in brochures on buses, streetcars, and subways. TTC staff will also hand out the survey brochure at stations, malls and at Humber College and University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus.

The City has asked the TTC to significantly cut its budget for 2007 and 2008. Such massive reductions will force the TTC to cut service, raise fares, or both. The TTC has already cancelled the service improvements that it planned for this year to keep up with ridership growth.

You can complete the survey online, or complete the paper survey from the brochure and mail it to: TTC Survey, 1900 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, M4S 1Z2. You can also fax it to 416-338-0127 or drop it off into boxes near the collectors’ booths in any TTC station.

The TTC has set up new web pages with background materials on the proposed cuts.
