The City of Toronto will close the Gardiner Expressway this weekend so that it can conduct its annual fall maintenance of the expressway. The City will close the westbound lanes between Carlaw Avenue and the Humber River from 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 8 until 5 a.m. on Monday, September 10. It will also close the eastbound lanes between the Humber and Carlaw from 2 a.m. on Sunday, September 9 until 5 a.m. on Monday, September 10.
You can expect detours and delays on GO Transit buses this weekend as the buses travel along Lake Shore Boulevard instead of the Gardiner.
Closing the Gardiner will affect service on these routes: 16 Hamilton QEW Express, 21 Milton, 31 Georgetown, 65 Barrie-Bradford and 71 Stouffville.
It may also affect some service on the 01 Lakeshore West route: the Sunday 5:30 a.m. bus-only trip from the Hamilton GO Centre to Union Station and the Sunday and Monday 1:30 a.m. bus-only trip from Union to Hamilton.
It may also affect some service on the 09 Lakeshore East route: the Saturday and Sunday 5:40 a.m. bus-only trip from Oshawa GO Station to Union Station and the Sunday and Monday 1:20 a.m. bus-only trip from Union to Oshawa.
