York Region Transit made minor revisions to its routes and services starting today, Tuesday, October 9, 2007.

The changes affect these routes: 2 Milliken, 2A 14th Avenue, 13 Islington, 18 Bur Oak, 22 King City, 31 Aurora North, 34 Industrial Parkway, 58 Leslie North, 83 Trench, 89 Richmond Hill Community Bus, 91 Bayview South, 423 Newmarket High School, 444 Langstaff Secondary School, 447 St. Theresa High School, 463 Vellore

31 Aurora North: To address overcrowding, trips that formerly started at Bayview Avenue and Hollidge Boulevard now start at Bayview and Pederson Drive. A new eastbound trip leaves Aurora High School at 3:05 p.m.

91 Bayview South: The 7:05 a.m. southbound Route 91A trip from Bayview and Subrisco Avenues serves the Woodriver Street / Subrisco Avenue loop, starting at Woodriver and Bayview Ave. at 7:02 a.m. YRT has extended the 3 p.m. northbound trip starting at Bayview and John Street to Bayview Plaza and canceled the 3:30 p.m. northbound trip that formerly started at Bayview and Major Mackenzie Drive. To accommodate overcrowding, a short turn northbound trip starts at Steeles Avenue East and Henderson Avenue at 2:55 p.m.

18 Bur Oak: YRT has added two new weekday trips to address overcrowding. A bus operating on a new weekday westbound trip leaves Markham Stouffville Hospital at 7:47 a.m. A bus operating on a new weekday eastbound trip leaves McCowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue at 3 p.m.

2A 14 Avenue: A bus operating on the 2A 14th Avenue route now makes a timed transfer with a bus operating on the 7:40 a.m. westbound 85 Rutherford / 16th Avenue trip from Markham Stouffville Hospital.

13 Islington: To accommodate Kleinburg-area students attending Emily Carr Secondary School, the bus operating on the weekday southbound trip that formerly left Islington Avenue and Highway 27 at 7:40 a.m. now leaves five minutes earlier at 7:35 a.m., arriving at Rutherford Road at approximately 7:45 a.m.

34 Industrial Parkway: YRT has canceled the first afternoon southbound trip leaving Bayview Avenue and St. John’s Side Road at 3:05 p.m. and the first afternoon northbound trip, leaving Yonge and Edward Streets at 3:20 p.m.

22 King City: A new trip leaves Seneca College-King Campus at 2:40 p.m. The bus operating on this new trip detours along Bathurst Street and Kingshill Road, ending at Bathurst and King Side Road. The bus also stops at Cardinal Carter Catholic High School.

444 Langstaff Secondary School: To reduce overcrowding, all afternoon trips leave Langstaff High School at 2:45 p.m.

58 Leslie North: The 7:05 a.m. weekday southbound trip from Mount Albert now serves East Gwillimbury GO Station.

2 Milliken: The weekday westbound midday trips from John Street and Woodbine Avenue now leave two minutes earlier to improve connections with buses operating on the 2A 14th Avenue route.

423 Newmarket High School: To reduce overcrowding, the 2:45 p.m. trip leaves five minutes later at 2:50 p.m.

89 Richmond Hill Community Bus: YRT has added two new bus stops: a new northbound bus stop at Pugsley Street and Dunsmore Crescent and a new southbound bus stop at Pugsley and Roseview Avenue. YRT buses operating on the 89 Richmond Hill Community Bus route serve both stops seven days a week.

447 St. Theresa High School: To reduce overcrowding, YRT has added a new additional northbound trip, leaving St. Theresa High School at 2:30 p.m.

83 Trench: A new southbound trip leaves Yonge Street and Canyon Hill Avenue (Bernard) at 2:25 p.m to address overcrowding on the 440 St. Theresa HIgh School special route.

463 Vellore: YRT has added two new trips to respond to increased ridership. A westbound bus operating on a new trip leaves Vaughan Mills Mall Terminal at 7:25 a.m., arriving at Emily Carr Secondary School at approximately 7:48 a.m. An eastbound bus operating on a new trip leaves Emily Carr Secondary School at 2:35 p.m., arriving at Vaughan Mills Mall Terminal at approximately 2:58 p.m.
