Starting at 5 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, October 23, the City of Toronto will partially re-open the intersection of Bathurst Street and Queen Street West to traffic. The City will re-open one northbound lane on Bathurst and one eastbound lane on Queen.
The City and TTC have been reconstructing the streetcar tracks in the intersection since Monday, October 15. Partially re-opening the intersection tomorrow will allow the TTC to operate some transit service through the intersection. Starting early on the morning of Wednesday, October 24, northbound buses on the 310 Bathurst overnight service will resume their regular route. Southbound buses and all streetcars operating on the 301 Queen (overnight), 501 Queen and 511 Bathurst routes will continue to divert around the intersection:
311 Bathurst (overnight): Southbound buses operate along their regular route to Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West, then detour eastward along Dundas, southward along Spadina Avenue and then westward along Richmond Street West, resuming their regular route at Richmond and Bathurst. Northbound buses operate along their regular route. 511 Bathurst: Southbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Bathurst and College Streets, then detour eastward along College, southward along Spadina Avenue and then westward along King Street West, resuming their regular route at King and Bathurst Streets. Northbound cars reverse this routing. 301 / 501 Queen: Eastbound streetcars proceed along their regular route to Queen Street West and Shaw Street, then detour southward along Shaw, eastward along King Street West and then northward along Spadina Avenue, resuming their regular route at Spadina and Queen. Westbound cars reverse this routing.
