Santa comes to Georgetown today



Today, Saturday, November 10, from 5 until 8:30 p.m., the Town of Halton Hills will close Guelph Street (Highway 7) between Sinclair Avenue and Mill Street and Mill Street between Guelph and Charles Streets to accommodate the annual Georgetown Santa Claus Parade.

GO Transit will reroute buses on its 31 Georgetown route during the event. Eastbound buses originating in Georgetown will begin their trips at Georgetown GO Station, then proceed eastward along King Street, southward along Mountainview Road North and then southeastward along Armstrong Avenue, resuming their regular route at Armstrong and Guelph Street. Westbound buses heading to Georgetown will reverse this routing.

Eastbound buses originating in Guelph will operate along their regular route to Highway 7 and Wildwood Road, then divert eastward along Wildwood, southward along Confederation Street and Mountainview Road North, then westward along King Street to Georgetown GO Station. After leaving the station, buses proceed eastward along King Street, southward along Mountainview Road and then southeastward along Armstrong Avenue, resuming their regular route at Armstrong and Guelph Street. Westbound buses heading to Guelph will reverse this routing.
