TTC issues first web service advisory:
Yonge subway closed south of Bloor

Update, 11:25 a.m.: The TTC has withdrawn the advisory, so regular service has resumed.

On Monday, the TTC launched a new web service for advising passengers about disruptions to the subway and rapid transit lines.

Today, the TTC issued its first service disruption advisory. The TTC has shut down the 1 Yonge-University-Spadina subway between Bloor and St. Patrick Stations.

The TTC is running shuttle buses to replace subway service. But, the TTC also reminds passengers that the buses cannot carry the entire subway passenger load because of their smaller capacity and traffic congestion on downtown streets.
