On Saturday, November 24 from 5:45 until 8 p.m., the Town of Ajax will close Bayly Street West between Mackenzie Avenue and and Harwood Avenue, Harwood Avenue between Bayly and Achilles Road and other streets in central Ajax to accommodate the town’s first evening Santa Claus Parade.
The parade will affect DRT service near Ajax Plaza.
281 Beach / Audley South / Puckrin / Elm: DRT has not announced detours, but buses will likely operate along their regular route to Station Street and Harwood Avenue South, then detour eastward along Achilles Road and then southward along Harewood Road to King’s Crescent, resuming their regular route eastward along King’s.GO Transit
94 Oshawa Highway 2 Express: Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Kingston Road (Highway 2) and Harwood Avenue, then continue westward along Kingston and then southward along Westney Road South to the Ajax GO Station, where they resume their regular route. On Saturday, November 24, the Region of York and the Town of Aurora will close Yonge Street between St. John’s Sideroad and Orchard Heights Boulevard from 3 until 5 p.m., and between Orchard Heights and Industrial Boulevards from 5 until 8 p.m. to accommodate the parade.

On Sunday, November 25 from approximately 1 to 4 p.m., the Region of York and the City of Vaughan will close Major Mackenzie Drive between Highway 400 and the Vaughan Civic Centre (east of Keele Street ) to accommodate the annual SantaFest in Maple Parade.
The TTC and YRT will divert regular buses during the event.

4 Major Mackenzie: Eastbound buses begin their trips at Jane Street and Springside Drive, then proceed eastward along Springside, south- and eastward along Melville Avenue, eastward along Rutherford Road, northward along Dufferin Street to Major Mackenzie Drive, resuming their regular route eastward along Major Mackenzie. Shuttle buses will carry local passengers to and from points east of Markville. Westbound shuttles start their trips at Markham-Stouffville Hospital, then proceed eastward along Church Street, southward along Bur Oak Avenue, westward along Highway 7, southward along the Box Grove Bypass, westward along 14th Avenue and then northward along McCowan Road into the Markville Mall parking lot. The Markham Festival of Lights will also affect this route. 522 Markham Community Bus: YRT has not announced detours for this route which will would usually cross Main Street on Saturday afternoons. 41 Markham Local: Westbound buses will operate from Markham-Stouffville Hospital and proceed eastward along Church Street, north- and westward along Bur Oak Avenue, and then southward along Mingay Avenue to 16th Avenue, resuming their regular route southward along Stone Mason Gate. Eastbound buses will reverse this routing. Buses operating on the 41 Markham Local route will carry passengers that ordinarily would travel on the 85 Rutherford-16th Avenue route to reach Markham Stouffville Hospital. During the parade, passengers can transfer between buses on the two routes at 16th Avenue and Stone Mason Gate. 85 Rutherford-16th Avenue: Westbound buses begin their trips at Stone Mason Gate and 16th Avenue and then proceed along their regular route westward along 16th. Eastbound buses follow their regular route to 16th Avenue and Quarry Stone Drive then detour southward along Quarry Stone, eastward along Raymerville Drive and northward along Stone Mason Gate to 16th Avenue, where the buses will end their trips. On Sunday, November 25 from approximately 4 to 7 p.m., the Municipality of Clarington will close King Avenue Newcastle between Baldwin and Arthur Streets to accommodate the Santa Claus Parade.
GO Transit has not announced detours, but the event will likely delay or divert buses operating on the 09 Lakeshore East route. The Grey Cup game in Toronto will also affect train service on the 09 Lakeshore East route.Port Perry
On Saturday, November 24, from approximately 4 to 7 p.m., the Regin of Durahm and the Township of Scugog will close Reach Street between Port Perry Fairgrounds and Simcoe Street and Simcoe Street between Reach and Queen Streets to accommodate the Scugog Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade.
GO Transit will divert buses on its 81 Port Perry route during the event. Southbound buses from Beaverton will operate along their regular route to Reach Street and Old Simcoe Road, then detour southward along Old Simcoe to Scuogog Street, resuming their regular route westward along Scugog (Highway 7A). On Sunday, November 25, from approximately noon until 3 p.m., The City of Mississauga will close Queen Street Streetsville between Brittania Road West and Church Street to accommodate the Streetsville Business Improvement Area’s annual Santa Claus Parade.

10 Bristol-Britannia: Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Britannia Road west and Erin Mills Parkway, then detour northward along Erin Mills and Mississauga Road, eastward along Argentia Road, southward along Creditview Road and then westward along Britannia to River Grove Avenue, resuming their regular route southward along River Grove. Westbound buses reverse this routing. 39 Britannia: Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Britannia Road west and Erin Mills Parkway, then detour northward along Erin Mills and Mississauga Road, and then eastward along Argentia Road to Creditview Road, resuming their regular route southward along Creditview. The Canadian Football League’s 95th annual Grey Cup game takes place in Toronto this year and GO Transit will offer fans extra train service to help them get to and from the game.
09 Lakeshore East: In addition to regular hourly service, GO will run extra trains from and to Oshawa GO Station. An additional train will leave Oshawa at 4:11 p.m. making all stops, arriving at Union Station at 5:07 p.m. GO will also add two trains in addition to the regular hourly service to help customers get home after the game. The bus leaving Uxbridge at 11:40 a.m. towards Union Station will start its trip from Mill and Toronto Streets, then proceed southward along Toronto Street on its regular route.
