Starting Monday, December 3, Mississauga Transit will make several changes to its routes and services. In particular, it will revise the 3 Bloor route to better serve the City Centre area and re-introduce a City Centre shuttle service.
Mississauga Transit will: introduce a new route; revise a current route; extend a current route; introduce a new express stop; adjust schedules.
The changes affect these routes: 1 Dundas, 3 Bloor, 6 Credit Woodlands-Westdale, 8 Cawthra-Indian Road, 13 Glen Erin, 26 Burnhamthorpe, 61 Mavis, 61A Mavis-Twain, 74 City Centre Shuttle, 76 Square One-Subway, 110 University, 202 Hurontario Express
Introduce a new route 74 City Centre Shuttle: Starting Monday, December 3, Mississauga Transit and the owners and shops of Square One mall will offer shuttle bus service through the City Centre area. The shuttle fare will be just $1. You can transfer to the shuttle buses from other Mississauga Transit buses by showing your transfer or pass to the shuttle driver. You can transfer from the shuttle to other Mississauga Transit buses by paying the regular fare and asking the shuttle driver for a transfer or by using your pass.
Buses on operate Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:25 p.m., Saturday from 9:20 a.m. until 8:55 p.m. and Sunday from 9:45 a.m. until 7:55 p.m.
They operate counterclockwise from the Mississauga City Centre Terminal. The buses proceed eastward along Rathburn Road West, southward along City Centre Drive, east- and southward along Robert Speck Parkway, westward along Burnhamthorpe Road East, southward along Hurontario Street, westward along Matthews Gate, north- and westward along Enfield Gate, northward along Kariya Gate, westward along City Centre, southward along Duke of York Boulevard, westward along Webb Drive, northward along Confederation Parkway, eastward along Burnhamthorpe Road West, northward along Living Arts Drive, westward along Princess Royal Drive, northward along Confederation and then eastward along Rathburn to the City Centre Terminal.
Details of the 74 City Centre Shuttle
Revise a current route 3 Bloor: Starting Monday, December 3, Mississauga Transit will revise the Monday-to-Saturday routing to provide more service in the City Centre area. Eastbound buses will operate along their current route to Kariya Gate and Burnhamthorpe Road West, then continue southward along Kariya, eastward along Elm Drives West and East and southward along Mississauga Valley Drive to Central Parkway East, resuming their current route southward along Mississauga Valley. Westbound buses will reverse this routing.
The change does not affect the Sunday route of 3 Bloor service. On Sundays, eastbound buses continue to operate from the Mississauga City Centre Terminal westward along Rathburn Road West, southward along Duke of York Boulevard, westward along Princess Royal Drive, southward along Living Arts Drive, eastward along Burnhamthorpe Road West, south- and westward along Webb Drive and then eastward along Central Parkways West and East to Mississauga Valley, then following their Monday-to-Saturday route southward along Mississauga Valley. Westbound buses reverse this routing.
Details of the 3 Bloor rerouting
Extend a current route 61A Mavis-Twain: Starting Monday, December 3, southbound buses will begin their trips at Sheridan College’s Davis Campus in Brampton. They will then proceed southward along McLaughlin Road, westward along Twain Avenue and southward along Mavis Road to Derry Road West, resuming their current route southward along Mavis. Northbound buses will reverse this routing. Buses will operate in both directions along Mavis north of Derry and along Twain. 61A buses will no longer operate southward along McLaughlin between Twain and Derry. (Buses operating on the 66 McLaughlin route continue to serve this part of McLaughlin.) 61A buses no longer operate westward along Derry between McLaughlin and Mavis. (Buses operating on the 42 Derry route will continue to serve this part of Derry.)
Introduce a new express stop 202 Hurontario Express: Starting Monday, December 3, buses will stop in both directions at Hurontario Street and Elm Drive to allow passengers to transfer to and from buses on the 3 Bloor and 8 Cawthra-Indian Road routes.
Adjust schedules 26 Burnhamthorpe: Starting Monday, December 3, a new Monday-to-Friday eastbound trip will depart South Common Centre at 4:45 a.m. A new Monday-to-Friday westbound trip will depart from Islington Subway station at 5:57 a.m. A new Monday-to-Friday westbound trip will depart from City Centre Terminal at 6:02 a.m. 8 Cawthra-Indian Road: Starting Monday, December 3, the Monday-to-Friday northbound trip that currently leaves Bloor Street and Mississauga Valley Drive at 6:30 a.m. will leave earlier at 6:25 a.m. 6 Credit Woodlands-Westdale: Starting Monday, December 3, the Monday-to-Friday westbound trip that currently leaves the City Centre Terminal at 3:19 p.m. will leave earlier at 3:14 p.m. 1 Dundas: Starting Monday, December 3, buses will operate on new Monday-to-Friday schedule times and frequencies. 13 Glen Erin: Starting Monday, December 3, buses will operate on new Monday-to-Friday schedule times and frequencies. 61 Mavis: Starting Saturday, December 8, buses will operate on new weekend schedule times. 76 Square One-Subway: Starting Monday, December 3, buses will operate on new Monday-to-Friday schedule times and frequencies. 110 University: Starting Monday, December 3, Mississauga Transit will Improve Monday-to-Friday peak-period frequencies.
