You can ride transit free tonight



Tonight, Monday, December 31, in many areas of the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton, you can ride transit free from your New Year’s Eve party or restaurants and bars. Most transit services in the region will also run later than usual.

Barrie Transit: You can ride the bus free between 6 and 9 p.m. You’ll have to pay regular Barrie Transit fares after 9, but most buses in the system will run until 3 a.m.

Brampton Transit: Free rides after 7:30 p.m.

Durham Region Transit: Ontario Power Generation and the Manufacturing and Technology Centre are sponsoring free rides on all DRT buses after 8 p.m.

GO Transit: Free rides after 7 p.m.

Hamilton Street Railway: Free rides after 6 p.m.

Mississauga Transit: Free rides after 7 p.m.

Region of Peel Transhelp: Free rides after 7 p.m.

Toronto Transit Commission: Capital One is sponsoring free rides on the TTC from 12:01 until 4 a.m.

York Region Transit: Free rides after 7 p.m.
