Starting Saturday, January 5, more GO Transit bus and train stops will be accessible to people using wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility devices.

31 Georgetown: GO has added accessible bus stops in Halton Hills at Georgetown GO Station, in Brampton at Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea GO Stations, in Mississauga at Malton GO Station and in Toronto at Union Station GO Bus Terminal. GO uses accessible buses on most bus trips, Mondays to Fridays, except bus trips that connect with trains. All train trips are accessible. (Mount Pleasant, Brampton, Bramalea, Etobicoke North, Weston and Union Stations were already accessible train stops along this route. Malton and Georgetown Stations are accessible stops for bus passengers only.)

21 Milton: GO has added accessible bus stops in Milton at Main and Martin Streets and the Milton GO Station, in Mississauga at Lisgar GO Station, Derry Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard, Meadowvale GO Station, Streetsville GO Station, Mississauga City Centre (Square One) Terminal and Dixie GO Station and in Toronto at Union Station GO Bus Terminal. It has added another accessible train stop in Mississauga at Cooksville GO Station. GO operates accessible buses on all trips on this route. All train trips are accessible. (Milton, Lisgar, Streetsville, Dixie and Union Stations were already accessible train stops along this route. Meadowvale Station is an accessible stop only for bus passengers. Cooksville Station is an accessible stop only for train passengers.)

71 Stouffville: GO has added an accessible bus stop in Markham at Markham GO Station. GO operates accessible buses on most bus trips, including on weekends and holidays, except bus trips that connect with trains. All train trips are accessible. (Stouffville, Mount Joy and Unionville Stations and the Union Station GO Bus Terminal were already accessible bus stops along this route. Stouffville, Mount Joy, Markham, Centennial, Unionville, Milliken, Agincourt, Kennedy and Union Stations were already accessible train stops along this route.)

GO operates accessible buses on many of its routes. These buses have lifts to help passengers using wheelchairs and scooters to board buses. All GO buses “kneel” — lower the platform at the entrance — to help all passengers get on or off the bus.

Forty-six of GO’s 58 train stations are accessible. Follow signs to the accessible boarding area. GO has equipped accessible stations with a ramped mini-platform on the main platform. When the train pulls into the station, a crew member places a portable bridge between the accessible railcar of the train and the mini-platform.

The accessible railcar is the fifth car from the locomotive end of the train. Each accessible railcar has wheelchair positions on the lower level. You can use retractable belts at the wheelchair positions.
