Yesterday’s high winds swept parts of the CIBC signs from Commerce Court onto the intersection of King and Bay Streets at 6 p.m. The streets remained closed to all traffic until approximately 10 a.m. today.
While the streets were closed, the TTC diverted transit service on the 6 Bay and 504 King routes.
6 Bay: Southbound buses operated along their regular route to Bay Street and Adelaide Street West, then diverted eastward along Adelaide, southward along Yonge Street, westward along Wellington Street West to Bay, resuming their regular route southward along Bay. Northbound buses operated along their regular route to Bay and Front Street West, then detoured westward along Front, northward along York Street and then eastward along Adelaide to Bay, resuming their regular route northward along Bay.
504 King: Westbound streetcars operated along their regular route to King Street West and Spadina Avenue, then detoured northward along Spadina, eastward along Queen Streets West and East and then southward along Church to King, resuming their regular route eastward along King. Eastbound cars operated along their regular route to King and Church, then detoured southward along Church, westward along Wellington Streets East and West and then northward along York Street to King, resuming their regular route westward along King.
