Mississauga Transit will revise its routes and services, including signifcant changes along Eglinton Avenue West to the Erin Mills Centre and Churchill Meadows neighbourhood, starting Monday, January 28.
Specifically, it will: introduce a new route; extend a current route; shorten a current route; and adjust the schedules of current routes.
The changes affect these routes: 3 Bloor, 7 Airport, 33 Erin Centre Loop, 34 Credit Valley, 35 Eglinton, 36 Colonial, 38 Creditview, 38A Creditview-Argentia, 110 University, 201 Dundas Express.
Introduce a new route: 33 Erin Centre: Starting Monday, January 28, Mississauga Transit will introduce a new route operating seven days a week, between the Erin Mills Town Centre and Churchill Meadows. Buses operate on a counterclockwise loop. Leaving the Erin Mills Town Centre, buses proceed westward along Erin Centre Boulevard, southward along Tenth Line and Middlesex Gate, westward along Aquinas Avenue, southward along Ridgeway Drive, eastward along Angel Pass Drive, northward along Colombo Crescent, eastward along Artesian Drive and Credit Valley Drive, northward along Erin Mills Parkway, eastward through the Credit Valley Hospital grounds, eastward along Credit Valley Drive, westward along Eglinton Avenue West and then northward along Erin Mills Parkway to the Erin Mills Town Centre. During Monday-to-Friday rush hours, extra buses will operate clockwise along the route, in addition to the buses operating along the regular counterclockwise route. The new route replaces the current, two-way 34 Credit Valley service along Erin Centre Boulevard and Credit Valley Drive.
Extend a current route 35 Eglinton: Starting Monday, January 28, eastbound buses will begin their trips at the Ninth Line and Erin Centre Boulevard in Churchill Meadows, then proceed eastward along Erin Centre, southward along Tenth Line and then eastward along Eglinton Avenues West and East to the Airport Corporate Centre. Westbound buses operate along Eglinton to Ninth Line, then continue northward along Ninth to Erin Centre. Buses on this route do not operate through the Credit Valley Hospital grounds or through the Erin Mills Town Centre. Buses operating on the extended route no longer operate along Erin Centre east of Tenth Line or along Winston Churchill Boulevard. Buses on the route operate every 20 minutes during Mondays-to-Fridays rush hours and every 30 minutes between the rush hours and operate during the daytime Mondays to Fridays only. (They do not operate Monday-to-Friday evenings or all day on weekends and holidays.)
Shorten a current route 34 Credit Valley: Starting Monday, January 28, buses will no longer operate west of the Erin Mills Town Centre. Eastbound buses will begin their trips seven days a week at the Town Centre, then proceed southward along Erin Mills Parkway, resuming their regular route at the entrance into the Credit Valley Hospital grounds. Westbound buses will reverse this routing. The new 33 Erin Centre route will replace current 34 Credit Valley service along Credit Valley Drive, west of Erin Mills and along Erin Centre Boulevard. Mississauga Transit buses will no longer operate along Kimbermount Avenue.
Adjust the schedules of current routes 7 Airport: Starting Monday, January 28, a bus will operate on a new Monday-to-Friday eastbound trip, leaving the City Centre (Square One) Terminal at 12:37 a.m. 3 Bloor: Starting Sunday, February 3, the bus operating on the Sunday eastbound trip from the City Centre (Square One) Transit Terminal that leaves at 8:41 a.m. will leave two minutes earlier at 8:39 a.m. 36 Colonial: Starting Monday, January 28, the bus operating on the Monday-to-Friday eastbound trip that leaves the South Common Centre at 6:39 a.m. will leave two minutes later at 6:37. 38 Creditview: Starting Saturday, February 2, Mississauga Transit will introduce new Saturday schedule times and frequencies. 38A Creditview-Argentia: Starting Sunday, February 3, Mississauga Transit will introduce new Sunday schedule times and frequencies. 201 Dundas Express Starting Monday, January 28, Mississauga Transit will introduce new Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hour schedule times. 110 University: Starting Monday, January 28, Mississauga Transit will increase the frequency of service between the rush hours Mondays to Fridays.
