Islington Station open house, April 22

The TTC has announced that it will host an open house to update riders and residents on its project to update and renovate Islington subway station.

The open house takes place on Tuesday, April 22 from 4 until 7 the concourse of the subway station.

The TTC originally scheduled an open house about its plans to modernize Islington and Kennedy Stations on March 29. It will announce the date for the Kipling Station open house soon.

At Islington, the TTC wants to:

  • install elevators to increase accessibility;
  • renovate the current terminal and build a new terminal;
  • build a new Islington Avenue entrance with public art;
  • relocate facilities to allow motorists to drop off or pick up passengers;
  • expand the commuter parking lot on Cordova Avenue.
