GO's new double-decker buses on the road, April 28

The first of GO Transit’s new double-decker buses will enter regular service for the first time on Monday, April 28.

The buses will operate on the 46 Highway 407 West route between Oakville GO Station and York University, stopping along the way at the Mississauga City Centre Terminal at Square One and Bramalea GO Station.

The new Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) Enviro 500 buses can seat 78 people — 46 on the upper level and 32 on the lower level — offering 37 per cent more seating capacity than GO’s regular highway buses.

On March 20, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty unveiled the first double-decker bus at GO’s main bus facility on Steeprock Drive in Toronto.
