Cumberland entrance to Bay Station closed

Today, Thursday, May 15, the TTC closed the Cumberland Street entrance to Bay Station.

The TTC is starting a project to rebuild this entrance to the station. The project includes:

  • Installing temporary hoarding at street level around the existing entrance.
  • Demolishing the roof and wall sections.
  • Demolishing the station pylon sign.
  • Installing a new roof, stone walls, stone bench and aluminum doors.
  • Installing new curtain walls with glazing.
  • Installing new electrical work and lighting.

Passengers can still enter and leave the station through the main entrance off Bay Street, just north of Bloor Street West, through Bellair Street and through 110 Bloor Street West.

You can find more details about the project, including an artist’s rendering of how the new entrance will look here. (.pdf)
