The City of Hamilton is hosting a public information centre to present proposals for a new downtown transit terminal for Hamilton Street Railway buses on Thursday, May 29.
The terminal will replace the transit service that currently loops on the south side of Gore Park.
The City is looking at two areas for the future terminal:
- Redesigning the current terminal on MacNab Street South, between King and Main Streets West, building a terminal building, redesigning the platforms and changing the direction of the street and another terminal along Hunter Street East between John and James Streets South, opposite the Hamilton GO Centre.
- Expanding the current MacNab Street South terminal, using vacant land between MacNab and James Street South between the CIBC and Pigott buildings.
At the meeting, City staff will present their proposals, answer your questions and listen to your ideas and comments about the proposals.
The meeting takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Hamilton Convention Centre,
Albion Room,
1 Summers Lane.
