Bay Ridges detour resumes, June 2



Starting Monday, June 2, the City of Pickering will resume construction along Douglas Avenue and Front Road in Bay Ridges.

The City will install sanitary sewers along Douglas between Chapleau Drive and Browning Avenue from 7 a.m. on Monday, June 2 until 7 a.m. on Friday, August 29. It will also install sanitary sewers along Front between Browning and Pleasant Street from Friday, July 18 until Thursday, September 18.

Durham Region Transit will divert buses on the R6 Bay Ridges route during the project.

Buses operate along their regular route to Liverpool Road South and Haller Street, then continue:

southward along Liverpool;
westward along Commerce Street; and then
southward along Pleasant Street to Annland Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Annland.


DRT buses operate along the R6 Bay Ridges route during Monday-to-Friday rush hours only.


The City previously closed the streets for construction from January 28 to February 19.
