Hillcrest construction affects YRT service, starting June 2



From Monday, June 2 until Friday, June 13, the owners of Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill will repave the mall’s north parking lot.

Several York Region Transit routes operate through mall property: 83 Trench; 86 Weldrick — Newkirk; 89 Richmond Hill Community Bus; and 242 North Richvale GO Shuttle.


242 North Richvale GO Shuttle:

During repaving, northbound Monday-to-Friday morning rush-hour buses start their trips at a temporary stop on the west side of the mall (near mall entrance 4) and leave the mall parking route on their regular route along Hillcrest Gate.

Southbound Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush-hour buses will enter the mall property at Hillcrest Gate and serve a temporary stop on the west side of the mall (near mall entrance 4) instead of a stop on the east side of the mall.

89 Richmond Hill Community Bus:

Regular route.

83 Trench:

During repaving, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the Hillcrest Gate entrance into the mall parking lot, then serve a temporary stop on the west side of the mall (near mall entrance 4) and then leave the lot at Deneva Gate, where they resume their regular route.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to the Deneva Gate entrance to the mall, then, serve the temporary stop on the west side of the mall (near mall entrance 4) and then leave the lot Hillcrest Gate, where they resume their regular route.

86 Weldrick — Newkirk:

During repaving, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to the Hillcrest Gate entrance to the mall property, then circle the mall and leave the mall property at the central Yonge Street exit, resuming their regular route northward along Yonge.

Westbound buses enter the mall from the northern Yonge Street entrance, serve the Zellers stop, then circle the mall and leave the mall property along Hillcrest Gate, resuming their regular route.
