Ti-Cats fans can ride the bus for free on game day

Updated: Tuesday, June 24.

The Hamilton Street Railway is again offering Canadian Football League fans free rides to and from Hamilton Tiger-Cats game at Ivor Wynne Stadium this year.

The 2008 Ticket to Ride program allows you to ride any HSR bus from three hours before the start of any home game until the end of service on game day, if you hold a valid ticket for the game. The 2008 program starts Thursday June 12, when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats meet the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in pre-season action at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to free rides on any regular HSR bus, you can also take advantage of Tiger-Cats Express shuttles. Park your car or take another HSR bus to one of four terminals across the City and the HSR will whisk you direct to the stadium on an express bus, and then take you back to one of the four terminals after the game.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttle buses operate from:

  • University Plaza, stopping only at Main Street West and Emerson Avenue (McMaster University) and Main Street East and John Street South.
  • Lime Ridge Mall park ‘n’ ride, stopping only at Lime Ridge Terminal.
  • Eastgate Square Terminal stopping only at the park ‘n’ ride lot at Queenston Road and Kenora Avenue.
  • King Street East and Hughson Street in downtown Hamilton, stopping only at Main Street East and John Street South.

After the game, buses operating on all four shuttles will pick you up on the west side of Melrose Avenue North beside the stadium.

Passengers who use D.A.R.T.S (Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System) can also ride to the game for free, if they hold a valid ticket for the game. (.pdf) Book your ride by calling 905-529-1212.
