Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will operate on summer schedules, increasing services to beaches, parks and tourist areas until September.
Specifically, the TTC will: revise current routes; extend current routes; extend current routes for the summer only; increase the frequency of service on current routes; increase the frequency of service on current routes for the summer only; decrease the hours of service on a current route; adjust schedules of current routes.
The changes affect these routes: 20 Cliffside; 30 Lambton; 57 Midland; 64 Main; 110 Islington South; 112 West Mall; 139 Finch — Don Mills; 165 Weston Road North; 224 Victoria Park North; 509 Harbourfront; 510 Spadina; 511 Bathurst.
Revise current routes:
Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will revise the route so that buses operating north of Steeles Avenue West on the 165 A (to and from Canada’s Wonderland), 165 D (to and from Major Mackenzie Drive), 165F (to and from Canada Drive) and 165G (to and from Highway 400 and Major Mackenzie) no longer travel along Old Weston Road and Steeles.
Southbound buses operate along their current route to Weston and Old Weston Roads, then proceed: southward along Weston Road to Steeles Avenue West,
resuming their current route southward along Weston.Northbound buses reverse this routing.
Extend current routes:
Starting Monday, June 23, the TTC will extend the route so that southbound buses on the 224D branch from Major Mackenzie Drive start their trips one block further north at Woodbine Avenue and Stony Hill Boulevard, instead of Woodbine and Vine Cliff Boulevard, and proceed: eastward along Stony Hill; and then
southward along Hazelton Avenue to Vine Cliff,
resuming their current route southward along Hazelton.Northbound buses operate along their current route to Woodbine Avenue and Vine Cliff Boulevard, continuing northward along Woodbine one block to Stony Hill Boulevard, where they end their trips.
Extend current routes for the summer only 30 Lambton:
Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will extend the route south of High Park Station into High Park on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays between about 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. until Monday, September 1 (Labour Day).
From High Park Station, southbound buses will proceed:
southward along High Park Avenue and Colborne Lodge Drive; and then
south- and westward along West Drive to Colborne Lodge.From West and Colborne Lodge Drives, northbound buses will proceed:
northward along Colborne Lodge and High Park Avenue to High Park Station.
Increase the frequency of service on current routes 57 Midland:
Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will increase the frequency of service on Sunday and holiday mornings, so that buses operate every 20 minutes instead of every 30 minutes along the route.
Increase the frequency of service on current routes for the summer only 511 Bathurst:
509 Harbourfront:Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will increase service on the route to handle the large numbers of passengers travelling to Exhibition Place, Ontario Place and the waterfront. On Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings, the TTC will increase the frequency of service from every 9 minutes to every 8 minutes. On Mondays to Fridays, the TTC will use more ALRVs (articulated light rail vehicles or “bendable” streetcars) on the route to carry more passengers on each car.
64 Main:Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will increase service on the route to handle the large numbers of passengers travelling to Exhibition Place, Ontario Place and the waterfront. Streetcars will operate along the route every 6 to 9 minutes at most times of the week.
Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will increase service on the route to handle the large numbers of passengers travelling to the waterfront. It will increase the frequency of buses operating along the route to every 15 mintues between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will increase service on the route to handle the large numbers of passengers travelling to the waterfront. It will increase the service south of King Street so that streetcars that usually end their trips at Spadina Avenue and King Street West, will end their trips instead at Lower Spadina Avenue and Queens Quay West. During Monday-to-Friday daytime, streetcars will operate along Queens Quay West to and from Union Station every 6 minutes. Seven evenings a week, streetcars will operate every 6 minutes along the entire route between Spadina and Union Stations.
Decrease the hours of service on a current route 139 Finch — Don Mills:
Starting Monday, June 23, the TTC will no longer operate buses on the route between about 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Buses will no longer operate along Scottfield Drive and Middlefield Road.
All eastbound buses will operate on local service along Neilson Road, Crow Trail, Baldoon Gate and Finch Avenue East to Highway 404 and then express to Don Mills Station, Monday-to-Friday rush hours only. All westbound buses will operate express between Don Mills Station and Don Mills Road and Finch Avenue East and then local along Finch Avenue East to Neilson Road, Monday-to-Friday rush hours only.
Adjust schedules of current routes 20 Cliffside:
110 Islington South:Starting Sunday, June 22, the bus operating on the Saturday, Sunday and holiday eastbound trip that currently leaves Main Street Station at 10 p.m. will serve the entire route to Kennedy Station, instead of ending its trip at Birchmount Road.
112 West Mall:Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC will adjust the schedule to add more time to each trip during construction along Islington Avenue between Bloor Street West and the Queensway.
Starting Monday, June 23, the TTC will operate a bus on later round trip on the 112C branch to and from Disco Road at the end of the Monday-to-Friday afternoon peak period. The bus will leave on the new northbound trip from Kipling Station at 7:25 p.m. and southbound from Renforth and Carlingview Drives at 8:01 p.m.
