Starting Saturday, June 28, many GO Transit buses start operating on summer schedules. GO will introduce new service between Bronte and Milton and between Burlington and east-end Hamilton, increase weekend and holiday service to Georgetown and Guelph and improve service in Orangeville.
Specifically, GO will: introduce a new route; introduce a new branch for a current route; revise service on current routes; and increase service on current routes.
The changes affect these routes: 01 Lakeshore West; 16 Hamilton QEW Express; 20 Milton — Bronte; 21 Milton; 27 Milton Highway 401; 31 Georgetown; 37 Orangeville; 61 Richmond Hill; 65 Barrie.
Introduce a new route 20 Milton — Bronte:
Starting Monday, June 30, GO will introduce new bus service linking Milton GO Station, the Bronte Road park and ride lot at Bronte Road and Highway 407 and Bronte GO Station.
Thirteen Monday-to-Friday southbound trips leave Milton GO Station from 5:45 a.m. until 10:45 p.m., and travel southward along Halton Regional Road 25 (Bronte Road), stopping at the park and ride lot and then continuing southward along Bronte and eastward along Wyecroft Road to Bronte GO Station.
Thirteen northbound trips reverse this routing, leaving Bronte Station from 7 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.
The new route allows passengers to connect to the 01 Lakeshore West, 21 Milton, 27 Milton Highway 401 and 46 Highway 407 West routes.
Introduce a new branch of a current route 01 Lakeshore West:
Starting Monday, June 30, GO will introduce a new branch linking the Stoney Creek park and ride lot on the corner of Barton Street East and Nash Road North in east-end Hamilton with Burlington GO Station.
Sixteen southeastbound express trips will leave Burlington GO Station every Monday to Friday between 7:11 a.m. and 1:44 a.m. the next day. The buses travel along Fairview Street, the Queen Elizabeth Way, Centennial Parkway North and Barton Street East.
Sixteen northwestbound express trips leave the Stoney Creek park and ride lot between 4:48 a.m. and 10:49 p.m. every Monday to Friday. The buses travel along Barton Street East, the Red Hill Valley Parkway, the Queen Elizabeth Way and Fairview Street.
Revise service on current routes 21 Milton: 27 Milton Highway 401:
37 Orangeville:Starting Monday, June 30, buses stop in the Drew Centre instead of at Main Street and Thompson Road.
Starting Monday, June 30, GO Transit buses will stop at the new Orangeville Terminal and park and ride lot at Town Line Road and Green Street.
Southbound buses will start their trips at the Orangeville Mall as they do currently, then follow their regular route to Broadway and John Street, then proceed:
southward along John;
eastward along Town Line Road to the park and ride lot; and then
continue eastward along Town Line to Broadway,
resuming their regular route eastward along Broadway.Northbound buses follow their regular route to the Orangeville Mall, through the town to Broadway and John Street, then proceed:
southward along John;
eastward along Town Line Road to the park and ride lot, where they end their trips.
Increase service on current routes 65 Barrie:
31 Georgetown:Starting Monday, June 30, a buses starts operating on a new Monday-to-Friday southbound trip leaves East Gwillimbury GO Station at 4:40 a.m.
The bus will stop at the Newmarket GO Terminal, Aurora GO Station and the Aurora carpool lot at Aurora Road and Highway 404, before travelling express along Highway 404 and the Don Valley Parkway to Union Station.
16 Hamilton QEW Express:Starting Saturday, June 28, GO will expand Saturday, Sunday and holiday service on this route. It will add many trips to various stops along the route and introduce Saturday, Sunday and holiday service to the University of Guelph.
In general, buses will operate in two branches on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Buses on the main branch operate local service west of the Brampton, then express service between Brampton and downtown Toronto.
Eastbound buses on this branch start their trips at the University of Guelph, serve the Downtown Guelph Bus Terminal, and all local stops along Highway 7, Queen Streets North and South and Steeles Avenue, then continue without stopping along Highways, 410, 401, 427 and the Gardiner Expressway to Union Station GO Bus Terminal. Every second bus on this branch starts its trip at Georgetown GO Station.
Westbound buses on this branch reverse this routing: express from Union to Brampton, then local service to either Georgetown GO Station or the University of Guelph.
Buses on a second branch operate local service between Bramalea and Malton, then express service to downtown Toronto. Eastbound buses start their trips at the Bramalea GO Station, serve local stops, including Malton GO Station, to Derry Road and Highway 427, then operate without stopping to the Union Station GO Bus Terminal.
Westbound buses reverse this routing on this branch from Union to Bramalea.
Early Saturday, Sunday and holiday mornings and late Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings, buses serve all local stops — including Brampton, Bramalea and Malton GO Stations — with alternate buses starting or ending their trips at either Georgetown or Guelph.
61 Richmond Hill:Starting Sunday, June 29, GO will add another trip to its Sunday and holiday evening schedule. A bus will leave the Hamilton GO Centre every Sunday or holiday at 11:30 p.m., arriving at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 12:25 a.m.
Starting Monday, June 30, GO will operate a new Monday-to-Friday express trip, leaving Richmond Hill GO Station at 8:30 a.m. and arriving at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 9:20 a.m.
