July holiday service



Update — Friday, June 27, 3:45 p.m.: The post contains information on Guelph Transit Mobility Services, which doesn’t usually operate on statutory holidays.


Most transit agencies will operate on Saturday, Sunday or holiday schedules on Canada Day, this Tuesday, July 1, so many routes that usually operate on weekdays may not be in service or will operate less frequently.

BACTS (Barrie Accessible Community Transportation Service): No service.

Barrie Transit: Hourly service begins at noon, with the last regular buses starting their final trips from the downtown terminal at 10:30 p.m. and all service ending by 12:15 a.m.

Brampton Transit: Sunday / holiday schedule for all routes, except route 77 Highway 7, which operates on a Saturday schedule. (Brampton Transit shares this route with York Region Transit and all YRT buses are operating on Saturday schedules on July 1.)

Burlington Transit: Sunday schedule.

Burlington Transit Handi-Van: No service.

DARTS (Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System) (Hamilton): Statutory holiday service — 9:30 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Durham Region Transit:

DRT West (Ajax and Pickering) and Centre (Whitby) - Holiday schedule.

DRT East (Oshawa and Clarington) - Regular Sunday schedule.

DRT North (Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge) - No service.

Specialized services - Sunday schedule.

GO Transit: Saturday schedule.

Guelph Transit: Sunday / holiday schedule.

Guelph Transit Mobility Services: Service from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Halton Hills ActiVan: Service available only if you book 48 hours before your trip.

Hamilton Street Railway: Sunday / holiday schedule

Milton Transit: No regular service. Free shuttle buses will operate to and from the Milton Fairgrounds, the site of the Town of Milton’s Canada Day events.

Mississauga Transit: Sunday / holiday schedule. (The TTC will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, July 2, so 32B Eglinton West buses into Mississauga will not operate.)

Oakville Transit: Holiday schedule (Holiday schedule = Zone Express Service plus routes 14, 19, 24, and 28 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

Oakville Transit Care-a-Van: No service.

Orangeville Transit: No service.

Region of Peel TransHelp: Sunday / holiday service.

Toronto Transit Commission: Saturday schedule.

Wheel-Trans: Weekend and holiday service.

York Region Transit: Saturday schedule.

(The TTC will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, so some TTC routes that usually operate into York Region on weekdays will not operate on July 2. These routes are: 17A Birchmount, 24D Victoria Park, 25D Don Mills, 37D Islington and 224 Victoria Park North.)

YRT Mobility Plus: Sunday and holiday service.
