Update — January 7, 2010: Construction at Brampton GO Station no longer requires the City to close part of Railroad Street. Regular Brampton Transit service has resumed.
Brampton Transit’s website now lists several ongoing detours affecting its services.
The detours affect these routes: 4 Chinguacousy; 15 Bramalea; 52 McMurchy.
15 Bramalea
(The City has closed Dewside Drive between Bramalea Road and Fernforest Drive to install storm and sanitary sewers and water services. Brampton Transit will divert transit service during the project.)
Southbound buses operate along their regular route.
Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Bramalea Road and Sandalwood Parkway East, then detour:
westward along Sandalwood; and then
northward along Fernforest Drive to Dewside Drive,
resuming their regular route northward along Fernforest.
4 Chinguacousy
(The City’s ongoing project to reconstruct and widen Wanless Drive from McLaughlin Road to Hurontario Street continues into July. Since the construction restricts traffic on Wanless to one lane in each direction, Brampton Transit buses will not be able to pick up passengers along Wanless and BT will likely detour its buses.)
Buses traveling from Mount Pleasant GO Station towards Shoppers’ World likely operate along their regular route to Brisdale Drive and Botavia Downs Drive, then detour:
eastward along Botavia Downs to Chinguacousy Road,
resuming their regular route southward along Chinguacousy.Buses traveling from Shoppers’ World towards Mount Pleasant GO Station reverse this routing.
52 McMurchy
(To accommodate GO Transit’s project to expand the Brampton GO Station, the City is closing the north side of Railroad Street to traffic between George and Mill Streets North. Westbound traffic will use the south side of the street and the City will block eastbound traffic from the roadway.)
Southbound buses operate along their regular route.
Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Railroad Street and Mill Street North, then detour:
southward along Mill;
eastward along Nelson Street West; and then
northward along George Street North and into the Downtown Brampton Transit Terminal.
