Starting today, Monday, July 21 three construction projects in Durham Region — two in Pickering and one in Oshawa — will affect transit services in the Region.
The projects affect these routes:
Durham Region Transit: M7 Rosebank; R7 Rosebank; R9 Rouge Hill Shuttle; 8 Stevenson; 107 Rosebank; 107B Rosebank; 109 Rouge Hill Shuttle; 408 Stevenson.
GO Transit: 94 Oshawa Highway 2.
Pickering
Construction is taking place along Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue.
Kingston Road Starting Monday, July 21, until further notice, during construction along Kingston Road / Highway 2 between Dixie Road and Glendale Drive, GO Transit will move the stops for buses operating along its 94 Oshawa Highway 2 route. It will relocate the eastbound stop at Kingston and Glendale 120 meters east of the regular stop. It will relocate the westbound stop 60 meters east of the regular stop at the east side of the intersection.Sheppard Avenue:
The City of Pickering is starting a long-term project today to reconstruct Sheppard Avenue between Altona and Rosebank Road and to stabilize the roadway, where it crosses Petticoat Creek.
Durham Region Transit will detour bus services during the project.

Starting Monday, July 27 until Friday, November 28, buses operating during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours operate along their regular route to Twyn Rivers Drive and Altona Road, then detour:
northward along Altona;
eastward along Stroud’s Lane; and then
southward along Rosebank Road to Sheppard Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along Sheppard.
R9 Rouge Hill Shuttle (before July 28): 109 Rouge Hill Shuttle (after July 28):Starting Monday, July 27 until Friday, November 28, buses operate along their regular route to Sheppard Avenue and Rosebank Road, then detour:
northward along Rosebank;
westward along Stroud’s Lane; and then
southward along Altona Road to Twyn Rivers Drive,
resuming their regular route westward along Twyn Rivers.
Starting Monday, July 27 until Friday, November 28, buses traveling toward Rouge Hill GO Station operate along their regular route to Rosebank Road and Stroud’s Lane, then detour:
westward along Stroud’s; and then
southward along Altona Road to Twyn Rivers Drive,
resuming their regular route southward along Altona.
Oshawa
The Region of Durham and City of Oshawa are installing storm and sanitary sewers along Annapolis Avenue between Park and Stevenson Roads North.
Durham Region Transit will detour bus services during the project.
8 Stevenson (before July 28): 408 Stevenson (after July 28):Northbound buses operate along their regular route.
From Monday, July 21 until November, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Annapolis Avenue and Stevenson Road North, then detour:
southward along Stevenson; and then
eastward along Fairleigh Avenue to Gibbons Street,
resuming their regular route southbound along Gibbons.
DRT will renumber many of its routes on Monday, July 28.
