TTC relocates York Mills bus terminal

Starting today, Monday, August 4, all TTC buses that start or end their trips at York Mills Station will use a temporary terminal at the York Mills Commuter Parking Lot on the north-west corner of Yonge Street and Wilson Avenue.

The TTC will be repairing the bus terminal at York Mills until Monday, September 1. Passengers who usually park at York Mills will either have to park elsewhere or travel a longer distance by public transit. The nearest TTC commuter parking lots are at Finch and Wilson Stations, but only Finch is a station that is accessible to people using wheelchairs.

Passengers transferring between the subway and a bus at York Mills will need a paper transfer ticket during the construction. Passengers requiring barrier free access from the subway to the temporary bus terminal can use accessible facilities in York Mills Station and then cross Yonge Street to reach the temporary terminal.

Buses operating on these routes will use the temporary terminal:

78 St. Andrews
95 York Mills
96 Wilson
97 Yonge
115 Silver Hills
122 Graydon Hall
165 Weston Road North

GO Transit has not announced detours to the routes of any of its buses that operate through York Mills Station terminal.

The TTC previously relocated its York Mills Station bus terminal to the north-west corner of Yonge Street and Wilson Avenue from May 24, 1987 until March 13, 1988. That time, the TTC demolished the original York Mills Station terminal — which it opened on March 31, 1973, when it extended the Yonge subway northward beyond Eglinton — so that a private developer could build the current York Mills Centre complex. The York Mills Centre includes the bus terminal that the TTC is now repairing.
