Milton Transit offers free fares,
detours bus service during construction

Milton Transit is offering passengers free rides all this week, August 1 to 8 to appreciate their customers patience during last week’s service disruption.

And, starting yesterday, Tuesday, August 5, it’s also detouring buses on two routes.

Last week, passengers experienced poor transit service resulting from mechanical problems with Milton Transit’s buses. The Town of Milton has a fleet of six buses — four of which operate along the system’s five routes and two replacement buses. Unfortunately, Milton Transit had to repair several of the buses at the same time, delaying regular transit service.

Milton Transit expects all four buses to be on the road this week, with the two replacement buses being available next week.

Meanwhile, buses are detouring around two construction projects.

5 Milton Crossroads

While Walmart rebuilds its store, buses will stop at the Garden Centre instead of the main entrance to the store.

3 Trudeau

The Town of Milton has started to rebuild Fourth Line between Beatty Trail and Clark Boulevard.

Buses operate along their regular route to Fourth Line and Clark Boulevard, then detour:

eastward along Clark;
northward along Trudeau Drive; and then
westward along Beatty Trail to Fourth,
resuming their regular route northward along Fourth.
